RECORING: To most effectively recondition damaged paper rolls, it is recommended that a metal sleeve be inserted into the roll's center to maintain roll integrity. This reinforcement minimizes the risk of re-crushing as well as allowing press runs to proceed at maximum desired speeds. A RAM associate was instrumental in developing this valuable re-coring technique and the subsequent customer satisfaction levels have been tremendous. As an adjunct to re-coring, RAM has developed another beneficial process known as unicapping. The unicapping process replaces or rebuilds the metal tipped core end when its integrity for the safety & efficiency of the press run is at issue.
